27/11/2008      DIVORCE - Ecclestone's wife goes for record settlement

 

The wife of Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone is filing for divorce.

Her settlement from 78-year-old Ecclestone's GBP2.5 billion fortune could be one of the largest ever, dwarfing the GBP48 million record set by Beverly Charman in 2006. Many of Ecclestone's assets are already held in a Jersey-based offshore trust in his 50-year-old non-dom wife's name.
