Job description vacancy: Conveyancing Paralegal

Main purpose of job
1. To provide maternity cover for busy assitant role to conveyancing department. This job carries a great deal of responsibility and is very demanding. Considerable experience of conveyancing is required as training will not be provided in conveyancing and any applicant will be expected to have a thorough working knowledge of conveyancing practice and procedures.
Key tasks (not an exhaustive list)
2. Undertake certain elements of fee earning work under supervision. In particular:
· File creation and quotes;
· Issue contracts and electronic Searches;
· SDLT at HM Revenue and Customs online;
· Exchanges, completions and registrations;
· Electronic diary maintenance, e-mails, correspondence, telephone and case management system
3. The jobholder is not designated as a matter handler for file review purposes and does not therefore have her/his own file caseload.
4. Deal wherever possible with routine client enquiries and communications.
5. Manage the collation of matter start and matter completion data.
6. Pass urgent issues to another senior fee earner for guidance.
7. Co-ordination of date reminder system.
