Clients Pledge Over £3.35 Million for Cancer Research
Cancer Research UK has recognised Curtis Parkinson’s clients for supporting their Free Will Service for nearly 20 years. Since 1999, these clients have pledged over £3.35 million in legacy gifts to the charity. Solicitor and Notary Public Kenneth Curtis and his team received a Gold certificate for their ongoing support from their Bingham, Bulwell, and Clifton offices.
UK Free Will Service
The firm has supported the no-obligation Free Will Service for nearly 20 years, benefiting many clients aged 55 and over looking to write a will or update an existing one. As part of the service, Curtis Parkinson provides information to those wishing to leave a legacy gift to Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research
Cancer Research UK, a leading cancer charity, receives no government funding for its research and relies heavily on legacy gifts. Over a third of its research is funded this way.
Kenneth Curtis, a partner at Curtis Parkinson, said, “We are particularly proud to have been able to offer this service. The £3.3 million pledged will provide sustainability for the work of Cancer Research UK. Cancer touches many of us, so we appreciate leaving a legacy.”
Clare Moore, Director of Legacies at Cancer Research UK, explained: “We all consider what will happen in the future. At Cancer Research UK, we work with local law firms to make or update a Will. Curtis Parkinson’s efforts are pivotal. These gifts will go a long way towards beating cancer sooner”.
Research Constantly Improving Survival Rates
Cancer survival in the UK has doubled since the early 1970s, and Cancer Research UK’s work has been at the heart of that progress. Every step taken by its doctors, nurses and scientists relies on donations from the public and the kindness of supporters who choose to leave a gift in their will.
