The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join our thriving, highly respected Nottingham practice. This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Bulwell office. The role is ideally suited to a dedicated assistant looking to provide vital support to a busy, successful and growing residential property team. Please note: This is a permanent assistant role. We are looking for a long-term team member who thrives in a dedicated support role; therefore, this position does not provide a pathway to a Training Contract or a future Solicitor position.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with our fee earners to ensure transactions progress smoothly from instruction to completion. Your daily responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with client onboarding, compliance, and initial file setup.
  • Compiling and preparing draft contract packs.
  • Ordering property searches and reviewing results.
  • Liaising professionally with other parties' solicitors, mortgage brokers, and estate agents.
  • Providing proactive, reassuring updates to clients on the progress of their matters.
  • Chasing outstanding enquiries and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Dealing with SDLT submissions, Land Registry applications, and all other post-completion matters.

About You

You are a proactive team player with excellent organisational skills, a strong eye for detail, and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. As this is an assistant role requiring a running start, you will need to demonstrate practical experience in a residential conveyancing environment. Ideally, you possess:
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of practical residential conveyancing experience within a legal environment.
  • Skills: Proficient in the use of a legal case management system and standard Microsoft Office software.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The confidence and professional polish to build excellent working relationships with clients and third parties alike.

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a professional Receptionist and Administrator to join our long-established, highly regarded team at our Bingham office. As the critical first point of contact for clients, visitors, and colleagues, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of our daily operations. Hours: Are 27.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday - 10 am - 4 pm (with 30-minute lunch break). Salary: National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage. Please note: This is a permanent administrative role. We are looking for a long-term team member who thrives in a dedicated support role; therefore, this position does not provide a pathway to a Training Contract or Paralegal work.

Key Responsibilities

You will ensure our front-of-house runs seamlessly by providing exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Greet visitors warmly and handle incoming telephone calls professionally.
  • Accurately record client information and direct enquiries to the appropriate team members.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, book meeting rooms, and keep office supplies stocked.

  • Local Knowledge: Ideally, you are based in or very near Bingham, enabling a reliable, stress-free daily commute.
  • Experience: You have a proven track record in a high-volume reception or hospitality role (legal experience is a plus, but a commitment to service is essential).
  • Skills: You are comfortable using Microsoft Office, pick up new software quickly, and possess the professional polish required to represent a well-respected law firm.
